Your child will discover what herbs are, their history, and what makes them work – learning about the chemicals inside them (called ‘active constituents’) and how to detect them. They’ll find out about the different types of products that may be found within a herbal dispensary, like dried herbs, tinctures, glycerites, ointments and syrups. They’ll also be encouraged to get out and about to search for common herbs, as they learn about the herbs that grow in each season and how to identify plants.
Your child will be provided with a good foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the factors that underpin health issues so they understand why specific herbs are chosen for particular body systems.
They’ll learn how to use herbs for coughs and sneezes, tummy aches, immune system support, skin health, cuts and grazes, helping emotions, and getting a good night’s sleep.
