Year 2 English

The Year 2 English Course keeps learning interesting by explaining the basics of reading, writing, and grammar through the exploration of topics that kids enjoy. So, they’ll not only gain a greater understanding of English concepts relevant to this level but also other areas of education.

From the Year 2 English Course, children will learn spelling patterns and grammar rules – practising these with various games and activities. They’ll also follow tasks that will help them with sentence formation and handwriting.

Children will learn about minibeasts and where to find them, what caused the Great Fire of London to take place, how the citizens of the ancient Aztec civilisation lived, and how our seasons work and differ across the world.

They’ll go on to learn about the British Monarchy, how castles were built, different plants and how to grow them, and the continent of Antarctica and the species that live there. They’ll also discover some fantastic children’s stories, as they explore Paddington and The Three Little Pigs.

By studying this course, your child will:

The Year 2 English Course is tailored to complement the Year 2 English United Kingdom (UK) National Curriculum. It is produced in line with the program of study for Year 2 objectives in reading, writing, spelling and grammar.

The course will aid children who are undertaking Year 2 English and would like to gain a better comprehension of the concepts covered at this level and those who may need additional practice outside of the classroom environment.
