Aromatherapy

This online aromatherapy course begins with a look at how essential oils were used in the past. You'll explore how ancient cultures used plant oils, and how those traditions have evolved into the aromatherapy we use today.

From there, you'll get to know the basics, including what essential oils are, how they're absorbed through the skin and through scent, and how they're traditionally used to support physical and emotional wellbeing.

You'll also start building some background knowledge of the body, so you can understand how your sessions work with different systems.

Essential oils carry specific safety considerations. Some oils are unsafe or require caution during pregnancy, for people with epilepsy, for young children, or alongside certain medications, and some citrus oils cause photosensitivity. Always check individual oil safety data, patch test before use, and refer clients with any relevant medical condition to their GP or pharmacist before use.

The Aromatherapy Course requires no prior knowledge of the subject, as it's covered fully. Beginners will find the course to be quite accessible, and those currently working in the health & wellbeing industry will find the course to be incredibly insightful.

This Aromatherapy Course is fully accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA). On completion, you’ll be eligible to apply for CMA membership and obtain professional practitioner insurance, allowing you to practise as an aromatherapist in the UK.

• In the UK, aromatherapy is not a statutorily regulated profession, which means you can legally practise as an aromatherapist once you are insured.

• This course is delivered online and equips you with the knowledge and skills to practise safely and ethically within the scope of your training.

By completing this course, you'll build the knowledge and confidence to begin offering aromatherapy services and support clients' wellbeing — and combined with practical experience, CMA registration and professional indemnity insurance, you'll be well placed to build a fulfilling practice.

This course also contributes towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), making it a valuable addition to your ongoing learning journey.
