I ChingDiploma Course

The I Ching Diploma Course starts with the basics – outlining the concepts of the I Ching, its origins, the difference between its structures, and a brief overview of how it is read.

One of the oldest texts in existence, the I Ching has a long history and has been translated into various languages over the years. You’ll be taken through its timeline, how the symbols were created, and the various historical interpretations of the I Ching as well as the key figures responsible for these interpretations.

Yin and Yang are the core forces of the I Ching. You’ll learn the origins of Yin and Yang, why they are so important, and the influence of the I Ching on Taoism. The course builds on this knowledge by explaining the structure of the I Ching. You’ll explore the Yin and Yang lines and their importance, the names and meaning of the eight trigrams, and the creation and general meaning of the 64 Hexagrams, as translated by James Legge.

With the core theories explained, the I Ching Diploma Course takes you through its practical usage as you explore the various I Ching divination methods and how to do them. You’ll go even deeper - gaining an understanding of changing lines in I Ching interpretation methods and the meanings of changing lines in various hexagrams.

Solidifying all you have learned, the course provides examples of I Ching readings and interpretations as applied to real-life situations, so you can more clearly see the practical application of readings. You’ll also learn about the various interpretation frameworks that can be applied during an I Ching reading session, and other practices pertaining to the I Ching.
