  • Weekly sessions: 13th, 20th, 27th March & 3rd April 3, 6 pm - 8 pm  (1-hour theory, 1-hour practical meditation)
  • Final session: Practical peer observation
  • Total duration: 5 weeks

Course Objectives

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the personal benefits of mindfulness.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the seven attitudes required to achieve mindfulness and how to overcome personal challenges to achieving mindfulness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of at least four aspects of well-being that mindfulness improves.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of how the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire be used to guide mindfulness training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the relevance of the mind-body relationship in mindfulness.

This online workshop is also suitable for those who might not necessarily meet anxiety diagnostic criteria but experience some form of anxiety. This can be in relation to specific situations, for example, underperforming during an exam, to a general feeling of overwheWhat Will You Learn?lm or unease which affects general well-being. 

Delve into the world of mindfulness, tracing its historical roots and understanding its core principles, including Kabat-Zinn's seven foundational attitudes. Explore the intricate mind-body relationship, its implications in mindfulness, and the techniques to address sub-clinical anxiety. Learn the distinction between fear and anxiety and the effects of threatening stimuli, and engage in hands-on exercises like mindful breathing.
