I enrolled in courses with Centre of Excellence to keep my mind busy as I went from working two jobs to being in lockdown without my family. I had to isolate separately as I was very high risk. I ended up hospitalised a couple of times… Each time I went to hospital I took my laptop and worked towards completing my course. The goal of helping others kept me focused during my fight against cancer and gave me purpose. I recently had a clear scan and although I’ve got a long road of treatment ahead of me I plan on celebrating with more courses to add to my skills and will continue fundraising for cancer charities.

After starting with some diplomas through the Centre of Excellence during the first lockdown, I made the decision to go back to uni late 2020 and complete my degree through the Open University. I transferred credits and combined what I'd done with the nursing degree I wasnt well enough to complete, with psychology and counselling modules to make up an open BA. It was tough going but I graduate in 3 weeks time with an honours degree! This wouldnt have been possible without the positive experience of self directed learning I had with CoE and this study group, as I'd have never believed I could do it off my own back around my chronic physical/mental health issues.

The last 3 years have been rather difficult to traverse with 2 x hospital stays with colon perforations and sepsis, where they then discovered I have mid gut malrotation since birth and all my insides are in the wrong place. Then in the last 8 months a skin cancer diagnosis, 2 x cancer removal operations, plus 2 x operations to rebuild my first and second fingers of each hand as I have severe degenerative bone disease. Completing these courses have kept me sane, particularly typing the assessments with just my 2 little fingers whilst the rest of my hands were in plastercast. But keeping my brain cells active has kept me going and I am tremendously proud of completing all 42 Courses with Distinctions in 3 years. I also have another 18 Courses partially completed but my typing is very slow with my fingers but hopefully I will complete them by my 60th birthday in December. This week I can finally hold a pencil and type a little more with my rebuilt fingers thanks to my wonderful surgeon.

On October 14th 2021 I logged In and saw I had achieved the 5th, and that night as I sat celebrating myself, with a friend, I received a call notifying me of my mums passing. I didn’t log back in for another 5 months after that. There was a point I wondered if I would get here. If I would be able to get back up and finish what I started. 5 years ago I never thought I would write this post. Or that I could achieve what I have now managed. I have experienced many bad things in my life which unfortunately have resulted in me never getting an education. As a result of my trauma, I have spent many of my teenage years and early adulthood with psychologists and therapists. To be able to live a normal life. After many years of treatment, I was finally able to stand on my own two feet. Finally, I should find a job, get an education and contribute to society. Not long after I left the psychology office for the last time, I noticed something strange about my health. A few days later I woke up with paralysis in the left side of my face. I was hospitalized and the neurologist told me I had Lyme disease. The whole world collapsed, why me? I should get my second chance at life now! I had inflammation of the brain. I was bedridden partly at home and partly in hospital for many months. I still have nerve damage, fatigue and diagnosis post lyme disease. I decided that I did not want to be defined as my disease and told myself that I could achieve what I wanted. If I found other ways to do it. So I started thinking positively. I set goals and found the Hypnotherapy course at COE. I've spent a whole year getting through it, but it was my only way to make it work with my health. The last 2-3 months I have gotten much better and I see that I am even closer to the goal of one day working. I am so proud of myself and that I have managed this even though I have had periods where I have not accomplished anything. It means nothing! I did it! I am so extremely proud and hope I can be an inspiration to others who for various reasons have to fight against the current! Never give up, better days are coming❤️

The theories I learned can certainly be put into practise in all of the fields that I Work within. I’ve now started the NLP foundation course. You might remember a while ago I was asking for therapy room inspiration. Here is the final result of all of the hard work myself and my dad put in to making it just perfect. I love it 💜🙏 Since beginning COE courses I have completed a foundation in Counselling and Psychotherapy at university level and am now starting my degree in psychology in October. I had to put too much effort with this one (my 4th course) because 3 months ago I woke up with sudden hearing loss of the right ear, and later on it developed in a horrible tinnitus in the brain which drives me crazy. And another issue is that I was not able to hear perfectly well with the left ear. However, sound therapy has helped me enormously to recover my hearing in both ears. Now I have 90% in the left ear and 20% in the right ear, which doctors keep telling that this is just impossible to happen without surgery, steroids or hyperbaric chamber. But there are no impossibles for alternative healing! Our bodies are definitely self-healing organisms which just need the perfect energy to achieve the "impossible" Thank you CoE for such a wonderful course!

New Year 2022 wasn't the best of starts for me, I was rushed into hospital with a severe kidney issue and blood poisoning, dealing with memory, brain fog and some mental health issues as a result, I decided to throw myself into the Cupping Course. (I've been a beauty therapist for 19years) I honestly didn't think I would do well or even complete it. But I have to say it was therapy for me, switching off from all that was going on while recovering. Today I received the results 99% overall. Finding Centre of Excellence has changed my life, the range of courses and how they are presented, the flexibility of learning online and this wonderful supportive community. I found myself lost and deflated, I’d been in the same job for over 20 years, I’d lost passion and purpose so I decided I had to make a change. I was recommended Centre of Excellence and started to explore, I’ve completed 5 courses to date (plenty more on the wish list) the first one I did was Life Purpose Coaching Diploma, initially to help me find my own purpose and it was there I decided to become a coach myself, I wanted to help people who like me had gotten to a certain stage in their life and had lost all purpose and passion and didn’t know where they were meant to be. I went further and did the Mindfulness Diploma to compliment my coaching, then onto Grief and Bereavement as I feel really passionate about normalising talking about grief and want to help people navigate through their grief as I have a lot of personal experience in this area. At the end of last year I completed the NLP Practioner Diploma and here I am launching my business Sharon Tosh Coaching. I’m so grateful for all the support here in this group that I would like to say thanks by offering 3 members some free coaching in either Grief, Finding your Life Purpose or Living a more Mindful Life, each person will receive 4-6 weeks of 1:1 coaching via zoom. The next day after receiving her diagnosis, I woke up determined more than ever to help and support my daughter in every way possible by educating myself to the best of my knowledge. I went to visit my son in London because of his marriage and I could not return home because all the air flights were canceled. To take advantage of the time, I enrolled in several courses: I have Studied (and still am studying) awareness in Eczema, Neuroplasticity, Memory, and Neuropsychology. I have finished the first two courses and I am already applying all the knowledge acquired in my therapeutic practice. I am a visual stimulator and a music therapist. learning to potentialize my therapies from the concepts of neuroplasticity has been a great improvement for me. At home, I was able to help my grandson and my nephew, in addition to being able to help several children with more assertive and effective therapies. I got distinction for my grades and it made me happy. But every day I continue to obtain personal satisfaction for each smile and each goal achieved in each of the children and families that I manage to help by applying knowledge about neuroplasticity. I've wanted to learn runes since I was a kid...when a witch in a movie was shown looking at objects with symbols to divine things, I would feel my soul ache. I never knew where to start to try to learn & no one I've ever encountered who was into New Age things ever mentioned runes, so I think I just sort of figured it was something that was beyond my reality... then I saw this at the Centre of Excellence. Structured learning works best for me, someone breaking it down piece by piece so I'm not overwhelmed with the plethora of information available on any given subject. I started developing a business idea several years ago, but I always found myself ignoring it because I didn’t feel like I could be doing something like that with no qualification/study/training. I had major imposter syndrome! Centre of Excellence Crystal Healing Diploma bridged that gap. I’ve just now fully completed it, but even after only a few modules I felt more than empowered to drive forward with this business. I understand concepts and methods 10x better after doing this course than I have by doing my own online research. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE… 🌞 The feeling was addictive! The course content is so in depth and really cements the knowledge in you so you can be confident in your abilities. The range of courses that COE offers is inspiring and has encouraged me to complete more so I can include more products in the future. I’ve just started the Master Herbalist Diploma and will be using it to create a range of herbal teas 🌿 I have also just started the Astrology Diploma to create a ZODIAC range of essential oil rollers and mists 🌕 I have nearly completed the Chakra and Aura Healing Diploma and that knowledge has gone towards developing a CHAKRA range of rollers and mists that will be avaliable soon! I’d been studying psychology and hypnosis in my own time for ten years and despite not being officially certified my work gained interest and was even listed in medical journals. I decided to get certified last year and initially began building a company around it. A month ago I made the decision to scale back and focus on a more personal experience for now. So far I’ve experienced massive success. One of my cases who lets me share her story was a lady who had a huge phobia of cats, she’d lost jobs, friends and even relationships because of this phobia. She’d tried hypnotherapy previously with limited success but yesterday after some CBT and hypnotherapy with me she happily stroked a cat for the first time in her life! I’ve yet to have a failure with any clients I’ve worked with and ADORE this work so THANK YOU Centre of excellence!
