Modern Japan is a fusion of the past and present. A wonderful mosaic of elements resulting from centuries of cultural development.

This Japanese course will introduce you to the country's culture and history. You'll explore the different periods of history from which Japan's culture was born. You'll discover artistic, warrior, social, and political developments and current Japanese culture.

This Japanese course begins with a historical overview of Japan's ancestry and geography. You'll journey from prehistoric Japan, through the Imperial court and medieval Shoguns, to the Meiji and modern periods.

You'll learn about Japanese culture through the county's religions and philosophies. We'll look at Japanese history with an exciting exploration of the feudal era of Japan and the rise of the samurai class and ninjas. You'll also discover the roles that women in Japan have held during its history. In this, you'll explore some of the best-known female roles, including those of geishas and samurai.

Delve further into Japanese culture as you discover unique traditional arts. You'll explore Japanese painting, music, performance, tea ceremonies, flower arranging, and writing. You'll examine major Japanese literature from the classical to pre- and post-war periods. This Japanese history and culture course also explores architectural development and Japan's unique gardening style.

Explore Japan's distinct cultural offerings, including manga, anime, cinema and kawaii culture. We'll also delve into the daily life philosophies woven into Japanese societies.

The Introduction to Japanese History & Culture Diploma Course will take up to 150 hours to complete, working from home. There is no time limit for completing this course; it can be studied in your own time at your own pace.

This is a Level 3 course and will give you 150 CPD (Continued Professional Development) points.

Upon completion of your course assessments, you receive 2 certificates. A certificate from the Centre of Excellence and a CPD certificate displaying the number of CPD points earned from the course.

This course is endorsed by the Quality Licence Scheme. Therefore, upon successful completion of this course, learners can also receive a certificate of achievement from Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary, which lists the details of all the units the learner has completed as part of the course. (This certificate is optional and costs an additional £25).
