What Will You Learn?

Within just 100 years, the Inca civilisation developed from a small highland tribe to one of the largest empires ever seen in the Americas, conquering and controlling lands from the Andes Mountains to the coastlands.

The History of the Incas Diploma Course takes you on a journey through the Inca Empire, discussing its origins, how and why it flourished, and what caused its demise.

Journey through the origins and rapid expansion of the Inca. We’ll integrate ourselves within Incan society – discovering social hierarchy, the government and the daily lives of the people.

We’ll explore the gods, religious practices and importance of the sky within the Incan religion, their farming techniques and technologies, stonemasonry, architecture and artwork, and the extraordinary Inca inventions – including their highway system, methods of food storage and preservation, and their counting system.

The History of the Incas Diploma Course explains how civil war and the arrival of the Spanish saw the end of the Inca empire, before concluding with a look at the Inca’s vast legacy of invention and ingenuity.

By studying this course, you will:

  • Discover the origins of the Inca
  • Learn how the Inca empire expanded so rapidly
  • Explore Incan society, religion, agriculture, art and architecture
  • Become familiar with Incan innovations
