The course begins with an explanation of what anatomy and physiology are and why they are important. You’ll learn the basics of cells, tissues, and organs and how they form the various body systems.
Each system is then covered in detail with each of the following explored in its own, specific module: Circulatory, Respiratory, Nervous, Endocrine, Musculoskeletal, Digestive, Urinary, Reproductive, Lymphatic and Integumentary systems.
You’ll learn about the organs and tissues within each system, how they work collectively to enable an animal to remain healthy, and how one issue can trigger a consequence elsewhere in the body that could cause ill health. You’ll also come to understand how all the body systems must work together for the dog to survive and thrive. You’ll also discover how a dog develops and changes throughout life – providing insight into aspects of its health and behaviour.
The course concludes with an exploration into the remarkable senses of dogs, covering everything from vision to taste and all that lies in-between.
